Katie Waldrip Branscum didn’t grow interested in becoming an attorney until after she graduated college.

“I interned in D.C. one summer and really appreciated the policy aspects of law, and so that’s what got me interested in law,” said the 29-year-old who studied dietetics and hospitality management at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.

She then attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s Bowen School of Law and graduated in 2017. She joined the Mitchell Williams law firm in Little Rock as part of its business law group.

“I like working in a capacity that enables me to provide value to our clients by facilitating their success and growth, whether that be through mergers or acquisitions, taking a company public or advising on corporate governance issues,” she said.

Branscum, who grew up on a row crop farm in east Arkansas, works with small businesses and Fortune 500 companies. She said she plans to stay in the firm’s business law group.

Outside of the office, Branscum, along with her two sisters, recently co-chaired Empty Bowls, a fundraiser for the Arkansas Foodbank. She also is a member of the Junior League of Little Rock and recently completed the Little Rock Regional Chamber’s annual leadership program.
