Caroline S. Robbins

Caroline Robbins, raised in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, came to Arkansas to earn a political science degree from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.

She had planned to return to Missouri to live and work. But she got a job in Little Rock with Mica Strother’s Strother Strategies Inc., doing political fundraising, and “fell in love with fundraising and fell in love with our state.”

Robbins decided she wanted to “continue making connections in our state and put that to good use for Arkansans.”

Robbins applied for the development position at Our House on something of a whim, but quickly realized she wanted to work at the nonprofit, which helps homeless and near-homeless families. “I loved the team environment of working on a campaign, and that was just exactly what Our House was about, this team working together for one purpose.”

She’s particularly proud to have helped grow Our House from a $2.6 million organization to a $4.1 million organization. “I’m very proud of building community support around that.”

Robbins is committed to Arkansas, and would love one day to head a nonprofit “making some important moves in our community.”
