A small habit that has helped you succeed
“‘It’s never as good as it seems, and it is never as bad as it seems.’ I picked that up in college baseball, and it’s shaped how I handle pressure in business, life and leadership — stay steady and show up every day.”
A word that describes you
“Competitive. I hate to lose more than anything. It started with video games as a kid, sports and now business. I love to push limits and find that next thing to strive for. I carry that into everything I do.”
First job and lessons learned
“My first job was mowing and cleaning properties in high school. It taught me you get out what you put in — effort compounds, hard work matters and there are no shortcuts to big goals.”
Biggest obstacle you’ve overcome
“Growing up, I was constantly overlooked in sports, which at the time was my whole world due to my size. I was a late bloomer and stayed small until my junior year of high school. That put a chip on my shoulder to fight harder, work smarter and never let someone else define my ceiling. That underdog mindset fueled me to being able to go on and play Division 1 baseball and eventually get drafted by the MLB. I still have the same mindset today in business — driven to prove myself every day, no matter what past success or accolades may say.”
What you’re most passionate about in your career
“The moments when people show you pure gratitude. Buying a home is obviously a huge investment financially, but people forget how much of an emotional component it is for many people. This can be a family tree changing moment. The pure joy and happiness it brings out of people is so powerful, and being a part of that journey is what keeps me coming back for more.”
Who you look up to and why
“I have been blessed in my life to be surrounded by many amazing people. However, I look up most to my parents. They have laid such a strong foundation for me to succeed. With my faith, morals and an example of a successful marriage, along with how to be there above all else for your family and children. I strive to have the same positive marriage and impact on my kids that they had on me.”
One book everyone should read and why
“’To Live Is Christ to Die Is Gain’ by Matt Chandler. This book really moved me. I can’t think of a more clear, relatable guide on how to live a successful life as a Christian than this book. I gave this as a gift to all my groomsmen before my wedding. It’s a must read.”
