When the pandemic hit, Joyti Lal seized an opportunity to put her business skills to work for her family’s restaurant, Star of India in Little Rock. Lal suggested offering to-go family meals while the restaurant was closed to slow the spread of the virus, and her idea had legs. Star of India was an early adopter of the trend.
She also developed a new training program for insurance sales representatives at Arkansas Blue Cross & Blue Shield, where she worked for three years until joining Salesforce.com, also known as SFDC, this year.
Before that, Lal worked for the part of Hewlett Packard Enterprise that was later spun off into DXC Technology. There, she went through her “trial by fire.” Lal was over the company’s customer relationship management system, which supported the work of 50,000 employees.
“I’ve always been known as ‘Oh, hey, Joyti can do this,’ or I’ll be the resource to identify the root cause, find the problem and find a resolution,” Lal said.
She is working to earn an MBA from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in business management.
Lal has also been involved with the Junior League of Little Rock, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Centers for Youth & Families.
