Community involvement
State representative, allowing Burkes the opportunity to connect with and support community leaders, constituents and various organizations/businesses within the district. Serves on the Joint Budget Committee; Public Transportation Committee; Aging, Children & Youth & Legislative Affairs Committee; and Public Retirement & Social Security Programs Committee. Arkansas Young Republicans; Republican Party of Benton County.
First job and lessons learned
“My first job was working for my family’s homebuilding business where I did dirt work, landscaping and construction site cleanup. It was tough, hands-on work that showed me how challenging a job can be. There was something really satisfying about seeing the land transform from rough and rocky to a beautifully landscaped site.”
Who you look up to and why
“I look up to both of my parents, Aaron and Rebecca Burkes. They’ve each built successful careers and have always been there for me. Having that kind of support and example has been incredibly motivating.”
