Originally from Hot Springs, Lara Farrar has worked as a journalist for nearly two decades, reporting from Boston, New York, London and China where she was stationed as a foreign correspondent from 2008 - 2017.
Her reporting has focused on technology, science, climate change, human rights, public health and higher education, among other subjects. It's appeared in media outlets ranging from CNN and CNN International to the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the Economist, Women's Wear Daily and the Chronicle of HIgher Education.
She holds a master's in global media and communication from the London School of Economics and Political Science and Fudan University in Shanghai. She studied journalism and Spanish at Boston University.
Outside of work, Farrar enjoys teaching group fitness classes, like yoga and cycling. She also enjoys hiking, horseback riding, traveling and spending time with her two cats and dog.
