The UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute’s Gala for Life was held at the Statehouse Convention Center. The event—which included a silent and live auction, dinner and dancing to the tunes of KC and the Sunshine Band—raised more than $1 million to support the institute’s programs, services and research. A pre-event VIP reception was held at the nearby Capital Hotel and featured a meet-and-greet with Harry Wayne Casey, lead singer of KC and the Sunshine Band. Dr. Laura Hutchins was the honoree, and Patricia Johnson was event chair. read more >
