North Hills Surgery Center in Fayetteville has fired a shot across the bow of competing outpatient surgery centers: transparent pricing for patients who pay out of pocket.
Prices for various procedures are already posted on the center’s website, and the quoted price included the full service range from consultation to follow-up care. (The cost of surgical implants is not included but is quoted separately.)
North Hills claims to be the first multispecialty outpatient surgical facility in the state to publicly disclose the prices. And that, according to Dr. Jeffrey Bell, the medical director at NHSC, is more important than ever because more patients have higher deductibles — deductibles that may be higher than the cost of a procedure.
So how much will it cost to repair that ACL? $5,722.
But you can get a laparoscopic appendectomy for $3,055.
