A-State News Service Awarded $20K Grant

1 min read

The Delta Digital News Service at Arkansas State University has received a $20,000 grant from the Fred Darragh Foundation to expand its ability to serve regional news outlets, help recruit high school students to careers in journalism, and provide professional-level experience for A-State journalism students.

The DDNS was established in 2016 as a working lab for undergraduate students to feed content to news organizations of all sizes and types. It serves as an anchor project for A-State’s Media and Communications multimedia journalism program.

All DDNS stories are available to media outlets in the state at no cost. The network has college-level editors, and high school students are paid when their stories are published by the DDNS.
