1 min read

Robin Liston, M.P.H., has joined the UAMS Translational Research Institute as its executive director.

Liston was previously assistant administrative director at Frontiers: University of Kansas Clinical and Translational Science Institute in Kansas City, Kansas.

As executive director, Liston will oversee all TRI staff and services to UAMS researchers and will serve as a liaison to the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences, the National Institutes of Health sponsor for the Clinical and Translational Science Awards Program. She will report to TRI Director Dr. Laura James.

Liston succeeds Amy Jo Jenkins, who left to serve as chief of staff to UAMS Chancellor Dr. Cam Patterson.

“After an extensive search with many excellent candidates, we are excited to have Robin as part of our team,” James said in a news release. “Robin’s diverse skill set developed over the last 18 years in research management helped set her apart. Her proven leadership within a CTSA Program will ensure the highest degree of efficiency and professionalism in our delivery of resources and services to all UAMS-affiliated investigators.”

The institute helps researchers turn their ideas and findings into new medical treatments and other health interventions. Its focus is on rural Arkansas populations.

The institute announced last year that it received five years of federal funding totaling $24.2 million to accelerate research addressing the state’s biggest health challenges.
