Brad Chambless has been named CEO and president of Farmers and Merchants Bank and the Bank of Fayetteville, effective Jan. 1.
Chambless joined Farmers and Merchants Bank of Stuttgart in 2006 and most recently served as executive vice president and as a member of its board. He succeeds Gary Hudson, who retired on Dec. 31.
Chairman Mickey Pierce said in a news release, “He has proven to be a tireless worker and focused everyday on the success of our institution through our employees and management. I look forward to our future with great optimism.”
Chambless received his undergraduate degree from the University of Arkansas at Monticello. He earned his law degree from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and practiced law in Arkansas for 10 years before entering the banking industry.
“While our institution has successfully grown to become the 10th largest bank chartered in Arkansas, we are truly focused on serving each of the communities where we are located,” Chambless said in the release. “I am very proud to lead a team of bankers who are devoted to serving customers at the grassroots level every day.”
In addition, Chambless serves on the boards for Acres of Hope Inc., the Arkansas County Imagination Library, the Stuttgart Rotary Club and the Arkansas Bar Association. He also previously served as a foundation board member for the Phillips County Community College of the University of Arkansas, as a member of the Arkansas Bankers Association agricultural sub-committee and as director and vice chairman of Arkansas Capital Corp.
