The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery recently launched a microsite designed to help educate players on how to participate responsibly, understand game odds and get any needed help for problem gambling.
March is Problem Gambling Awareness Month, so the unveiling coincides with a time when resources available to help those who may have issues with gambling are highlighted.
“We want people to enjoy the fun and excitement that comes with playing the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery,” Director J. Eric Hagler said in a news release. “But we also understand that, for some people, it stops being fun and becomes an addiction that can lead to other issues. For that reason, we have developed the Player’s Hub as an additional resource to help people overcome problem gambling.”
The lottery also holds a Responsible Gambling Certification from the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries and the National Council on Problem Gambling. The certification is awarded to lottery organizations that demonstrate best practices for training lottery employees and retailers on problem gambling issues and on resources provided to the playing public.
