Allegiant Adds Direct Flight From XNA

2 min read

Allegiant Air will add a direct flight to Punta Gorda, Florida, from Northwest Arkansas National Airport.

The twice-weekly flights are scheduled to begin Nov. 19 with introductory fares as low as $49 for a one-way ticket. The route was one of 22 new direct flights announced Tuesday by Allegiant.

“A hallmark of Allegiant’s service is to connect travelers to warmer destinations where they can enjoy a variety of outdoor leisure activities,” said Drew Wells, Allegiant’s senior vice president of revenue and planning. “And we’ve continued that tradition with this expansion by giving customers more affordable, nonstop options to visit Florida, Arizona and California during the fall and winter seasons.”

Allegiant, which was XNA’s No. 2 carrier before the COVID-19 pandemic, recently added direct flights from XNA to Houston, St. Petersburg, Florida, and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

“Northwest Arkansas is now connected to another fantastic leisure destination in Florida,” said Andrew Branch, XNA’s chief business development officer. “Punta Gorda will offer NWA residents a warm destination option for the fall and winter months, and we thank Allegiant Airlines for the continual support in our market.”

Breeze Airways, which started operations in May, also announced that flights from XNA to New Orleans and San Antonio would have special $39 fares. The New Orleans flights are Monday and Friday and San Antonio’s are Thursday and Sunday between Sept. 9 and Feb. 14.

The fares are only available through the Breeze app.

“Summer never seems long enough,” Breeze CEO and founder David Neeleman said. “But with $39 fares, there’s still plenty of time for fun weekends away to make it feel like an endless summer.”
