Karen Whatley
Karen Whatley has been appointed judge for the 7th Division Circuit Court in Arkansas’ 6th Judicial District by Gov. Asa Hutchinson.
Whatley has been the governor’s chief legal counsel and previously served as his director of legislative and agency affairs.
Alan McClain, commissioner of the Arkansas Insurance Department, has been appointed by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners to serve as the chair of the Workers’ Compensation Task Force, which studies the nature and effectiveness of state approaches to workers’ compensation and related issues.
