Father Knows Best for BoozmanLock Icon

Kristen Boozman tries to practice what she preaches.

Boozman, the owner of Portfolio Sotheby’s International Realty in Rogers who is featured in the Executive Q&A section of this issue, had a worthwhile response to a question about the best advice she had received. That advice was from her father, U.S. Sen. John Boozman, who told his middle daughter to always “do the right thing.”

Residential Real Estate

► Top Agencies
► Top Agents
► Top Sales Teams

Kristen Boozman said the admonition came up recently when a client decided to sell his home and offered it as a quick sale to Boozman for $1.1 million. Boozman researched the home and realized it was worth much more than that, so she worked with her client to market it. Sure enough, a potential buyer submitted a $1.8 million offer.

So Boozman could have done what the client wanted and bought a home on the cheap, but she said the thought never crossed her mind.

“It sounds so simple, but I am faced with this simple challenge every day and it’s something I talk about with my team regularly,” Boozman said. “This goes across the board with morals and values we use in our relationships and brokering real estate. Having market knowledge and integrity is very important in the real estate industry. I love it when my clients make money. That is the best part of the job.”
