The 2022 Diamond Lakes Tourism Conference will take place at DeGray Lake Resort State Park on Oct. 17-18, organizers announced.
The conference will include a job fair and breakout sessions providing information to help small business owners in the tourism and hospitality industry successfully navigate today’s volatile economy and dwindling talent pool.
“Like every other industry, our tourism and hospitality sectors are challenged with attracting quality people to the workplace,” Jim Shamburger, president of Diamond Lakes Travel Association board, said in a news release. “The job fair may be the most important component of the conference because it will introduce our industry to potential employees and hopefully lead to gainful employment, which benefits everyone.”
The Diamond Lakes Tourism Conference will also welcome international business consultant Park Howell as its keynote speaker. Howell is the founder of the Business of Story, a company that helps businesses use a 10-step process to successfully tell their story which, in turn, aids in attracting and retaining top talent.
Howell also is host of the weekly Business of Story podcast and the author of two books, “Brand Bewitchery” and “The Narrative Gym for Business.”
