Arkansas Tech University announced that Eric Walker will join the school as legal counsel effective July 5.
Walker has been a staff attorney for the Little Rock School District since 2016. He was previously assistant dean of career services for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s William H. Bowen School of Law, legal counsel for Windstream Holdings Inc. of Little Rock and general counsel for Philander Smith College.
He began his career as assistant attorney general and deputy prosecuting attorney for the state.
Walker, a Little Rock native, earned a bachelor’s in political science from Morehouse College and a J.D. from the Indiana University School of Law.
“Mr. Walker possesses the academic preparation and career experience necessary to succeed as legal counsel at Arkansas Tech University,” Robin Bowen, president of the university in Russellville, said in a news release. “I look forward to his service to our institution in support of our mission and vision.”
