2002 // Category I (1-25 Employees)

Rogers/Little Rock

Haz-MERT Inc. of Rogers can be there for a company’s emergency cleanup needs for hazardous materials and waste, but it prefers to train customers’ employees to respond to such incidents themselves.

Incorporated in 1993 by President and CEO Shannon Weathers, Haz-MERT has grown from a regional operation in its early years to a national source of hazardous waste management training.

The company provides counseling and professional expertise on hazardous material management, emergency response and training – thus the name Haz-MERT.

Its 27 employees tend to clients from state and federal agencies, municipalities, cities, schools, commercial and residential property owners, and nonprofit organizations. Their hope is to provide service in the safest and most cost-efficient manner possible, offering state-of-the-art techniques with up-to-date knowledge and understanding of any compliance concern.

“We have a lot of good people,” Weathers said. “It’s all about the people we’ve hired. We have people that are excellent in their field of expertise. We believe in service and take care of our clients.”

Weathers has 25 years of experience in safety and environmental fields.

Haz-MERT is expanding its offices with the construction of five new facilities, including a 10,000-SF office building, a 3,000-SF transfer facility, a 5,500-SF truck bay and shop, a 10,000-SF facility used partially for recycling electronics and a 14,000-SF warehouse.
