The father and son team of CEO Ralph Olsen and President Chris Olsen have kept the Horticare Landscape and Management Co. and Nursery in the green.
Since buying Doramus Landscape and Management Co. in 1992, the Olsens have changed the Little Rock company’s name and led an extensive growth period. Sales figures have pushed into the millions, the number of employees has grown to 102, and they’ve expanded their work crews from three to 20.
They offer full landscaping and nursery services, such as lawn maintenance, landscape installation, turf chemical applications and irrigation division and employ a staff of four architects for landscaping planning.
The company also recently opened a new nursery – their second – called Botanica Gardens at 1601 Rebsamen Park Road.
The Olsens say they have followed a plan of keeping clients satisfied with the highest quality service and products in Arkansas and are never afraid to make changes to stay ahead of competitors.
To that end, the Olsens have had a demanding hiring and training process, balanced by end-of-the-year bonuses based on performance and coming in at budget.
Next on the list for the team is expansion in northwest Arkansas and the younger Olsen continuing his stint as the “Garden Guru” on KTHV, Channel 11.
