Becoming one of Arkansas’ largest full-service litigation support firms came naturally for the husband-and-wife duo of Coy and Sarah Flynn.

With more than 20 combined years of experience in the field, the couple has taken Flynn Legal Services from a home basement office with one copy machine in 2003 to an industry leader in the state with five employees and a 2,500-SF office in the Lafayette Building in downtown Little Rock.

Sarah Flynn said the company’s biggest challenge these days is “keeping up with our growth and finding the type of quality employees to meet our standards and those of our clients.”

In the fall of 2002, the couple formed Flynn Marketing Inc. while saving money to open a “one-stop litigation support firm,” said Sarah Flynn.

With Coy Flynn’s management and political science background and Sarah Flynn’s 12 years as a legal assistant and eight years as a freelance court reporter, the Flynns were ready to launch Flynn Legal Services in an environment closer to their downtown clients in 2004.

The goal is to offer one-stop service and provide all facets of litigation support needed by attorneys and paraprofessionals, including court reporting, document management and videoconferencing. Sarah Flynn said, “We retain 99 percent of our first-time clients as loyal clients.”

Flynn Legal Services expanded in the summer of 2004 by adding new technology to the fold, such as videoconferencing, and adding additional court reporters to meet the demands of the firm’s growing client base.

During 2005, the couple said, every aspect of the business doubled, including court reporting, videoconferencing and document management. Flynn Legal Services is bracing for a busy 2006.

The business plans to add more court reporters and a new scanning department and wants to start a national training program for new and existing court reporters, with the goal of at least doubling revenue.
