Through the donation of products, money and volunteer hours, Allegra Print & Imaging of Arkansas Inc. has made sure to give back to the community that has helped make it successful.

“Community involvement is a core value of Allegra Print & Imaging,” said Lisa Buehler, vice president. “Our goal is to make a difference in our community one step at a time through The Allegra Print & Imaging FootPrint Fund for Nonprofit Friends and through contributions to charitable organizations either financially or through service.”

The Footprint fund provides grants of printing services to nonprofits and charitable organizations. Buehler estimated Allegra donated about 783 hours of service to various organizations in 2006. Allegra’s altruism has benefited numerous nonprofits, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arkansas, City Year Little Rock/North Little Rock, Second Genesis, the Salvation Army, Alzheimer’s Arkansas Programs & Services and the Arkansas Respiratory Healthcare Association.

Allegra also encourages its employees to individually support a charitable organization, and the Buehlers heed their own suggestion. Lisa and her husband, Darwin, president of Allegra, serve on several nonprofit boards, such as The Women’s Foundation of Arkansas, the Girl Scouts of Ouachita Council, the West Little Rock Rotary Club and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

“Allegra Print & Imaging values a sense of community, not only within the organization, but within the community at large,” Lisa Buehler said. “We lead by example, personally and professionally.”

Buehler exhibited a refreshing optimism regarding philanthropy that could stand to be emulated. “By partnering with organizations that share a passion for making a difference, all businesses can make a positive impact on the lives of our neighbors, our communities and our society,” Buehler said.
