When Monica Beck Glover and her brother, Dr. Jason Beck, started Onsite Imaging Solutions in 2010, she was running the business out of her home. Fast-forward five years and Onsite Imaging Solutions has 65 employees across the state and provides onsite radiological services to 85 percent of the long-term care market in Arkansas.

The company’s revenue rose 44 percent in 2012, 49 percent in 2013 and 62 percent in 2014, with annual sales last year of between $5 million and $10 million.

“The concept of providing radiological services at the bedside in nursing homes was not a novel concept. … It’s something that’s been done for decades,” Glover said. “We just saw a need for better service.”

Glover, an attorney who specializes in business health, said she and her brother often spoke with their mother, Dr. Cornelia Beck, a researcher at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, about the need for better radiology services in long-term facilities.

Their business started with the purchase of a small mobile radiology company in south Arkansas, and along with expanding service, they have created proprietary software that allows for the management of a mobile business “from end-to-end,” Glover said. A significant amount of 2014’s 62 percent revenue increase was due to the new operational efficiencies, she said.

Onsite Imaging Solutions hires skilled technicians and uses “local doctors to read our stuff,” Glover said. “We have a vested interest to make sure that those studies get read accurately. We’ve got top-notch radiologists.”

“When you’ve got nursing home patients who in a few hours can develop pneumonia that requires them to go to the hospital, or when they’ve got a fracture and they’re in pain, time matters,” Glover said.
