Wholesale construction supplier Cameron Ashley Building Products Inc. of Greeneville, South Carolina, announced it has opened its first location in Little Rock.
The 72,720-SF distribution center at 6801 Scott Hamilton Dr. is the company’s second location in Arkansas. It also has a location in Springdale.
In a news release, the company said the Little Rock distribution center will stock roofing, insulation, drywall, siding and associated accessories for fast delivery to customers’ jobsites and locations.
Jason Walker, the company’s district manager, said the size of the facility will allow the company to have a “robust inventory in all core categories.” Combined with locations in Springdale and Memphis, the company expects to be able to provide same-day and next-day delivery to about half of Arkansas.
The warehouse was purchased last year for $3.5 million by SH Warehouse LLC, an investment group led by Isaac Smith. It was formerly leased to McKesson Corp. of Irving, Texas.
Cameron Ashley now operates a network of more than 50 distribution centers across the U.S.
