Sports betting continues to explode in the United States since its legalization starting in 2018, with gross gaming revenue from sports betting reaching $7.5 billion in 2022.
That’s according to Statista, a provider of market and consumer data based in Hamburg, Germany.
Gross gaming revenue is defined as total wagers minus winnings. Americans wagered $93.2 billion in 2022, up from $57.2 billion in 2021, Statista reported.
