Flyway Brewing Plans Expansion to Memphis

2 min read

Flyway Brewing Co. of North Little Rock announced plans to expand to Memphis.

In a news release, the craft brewery said it’s taking over a space on Monroe Avenue currently occupied by High Cotton Brewing Co. and a space next door occupied by Edge Alley restaurant. Flyway and the ownership group behind City Silo Table + Pantry, which has locations in Memphis and Little Rock, are leading Flyway’s first out-of-state foray.

Ross Avery, president of High Cotton Brewing, will have an ownership stake in the new venture.

High Cotton, which opened in 2013, will offer a mix of the two breweries’ selections and undergo a renovation and expansion that includes a new music and event space.

“High Cotton’s contributions and innovations to Memphis’s brewing scene are invaluable, and we will continue that legacy,” Scott Tashie, co-owner of City Silo, said in a statement. “We’re committed to celebrating the staple brews that hold significance within our community and are proud to continue serving the crowd-favorite High Cotton Mexican Lager, among others.”

Matt Foster, founder and co-owner of Flyway, said, “Memphis has a vibrant beer scene with a growing number of breweries and beer enthusiasts who appreciate the artistry and creativity that goes into brewing unique, flavorful beers.

“We are excited to be a part of this thriving community and look forward to collaborating with local restaurants and bars as we expand Flyway’s presence in the area.”

Flyway opened its first location in 2015. It expanded to Fayetteville in November. Another location at the redeveloped Breckenridge Village was announced in 2022.
