Harps to Open Grocery Store on Arkansas Colleges of Health Education Campus

1 min read

Arkansas Colleges of Health Education in Fort Smith announced that Springdale-based Harps Food Stores is adding a grocery store on campus.

The store will focus on promoting wellness and healthy living, offering an extensive selection of fresh produce, organic products, lean proteins, and a variety of dietary options catering to diverse preferences and dietary needs, ACHE said in a news release.

“The addition of a grocery store on campus is aimed at fostering a healthier community by providing students, faculty, staff, and the surrounding neighborhoods with easier access to a wide array of fresh and nutritious food options,” Les Smith, chief operating officer for ACHE, said in a statement.

Since the private, not-for-profit institution was established in 2014, its campus has grown from 200 acres to 542 acres. It includes two educational buildings, 303 student apartment units, and a mixed-use center offering dining, retail, and services. The ACHE campus also hosts the Mercy Clinic and Mercy Rehabilitation hospital.

The grocery store comes ahead of other planned additions to campus, including a First Security Bank location, a physical therapy clinic, a day care facility and student apartments.
