Cobb-Vantress Inc. is the world’s oldest pedigree broiler breeding company, supplying the global poultry industry with the birds that produce the broiler chickens that humans eat.

It does this through innovative technology and cutting-edge genetics, sourcing the best male and female birds to make a product. The 109-year-old company is one of two in the world that does this at a global scale. Today, its researchers, veterinarians, nutritionists and geneticists are working to meet rising demand for poultry as sustainably as possible.

In October, it announced the Cobb Proving Grounds, an R&D center with scale and environments comparable to commercial production conditions around the world. The first of its kind in the poultry industry, the center will provide a 50-fold increase in data to enable better decision-making and give customers a chance to see how birds perform before they reach their facilities.

Trevor Geis, the company’s senior marketing manager, said the center is “making predictability more predictable.”
