Stephanie Tully-Dartez has been named the next president of South Arkansas College in El Dorado, assuming a role she has held on an interim basis since August.
The move is effective July 1.
Tully-Dartez was chosen after a four-month search conducted by a committee made up of the community college’s board members, faculty, staff and community leaders. The search yielded 22 applicants.
Tully-Dartez, who holds a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from Louisiana Tech University, joined South Arkansas College in 2009. She has held roles including vice president for academic affairs, associate vice president for institutional planning and academic support, and chef institutional effectiveness and advancement officer.
“As a 14-year employee of the college and an active community member in El Dorado, I recognize the vital role SouthArk plays in south Arkansas and in the economic development of the region,” Tully-Dartez said in a statement. “My experience and the trust placed in me by my supervisors and peers have prepared me to lead the college to even greater heights. I happily embrace the opportunity of serving as its sixth president.”
