J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. of Lowell launched its Quantum intermodal service in Mexico in partnership with BNSF Railway of Fort Worth and GMXT of Mexico City.
The service, Quantum de Mexico, promises 95% on-time delivery up to one day faster than previous intermodal service. J.B. Hunt first released Quantum in partnership with BNSF in November 2023; GMXT is the Mexico’s largest railway provider.

Hunt’s executive vice president of sales and marketing. “The collaboration we’re announcing today brings the full suite of our industry-leading intermodal service and its unmatched service excellence, scale and capacity to Mexico, building on the innovative success of a 35-year relationship.”
J.B. Hunt said Quantum improves on traditional intermodal service by pre-planning deliveries according to the freight and container and rail space availability.
J.B. Hunt will open an office in Queretaro, Mexico.
