Startup Junkie Foundation is a nonprofit that empowers entrepreneurs in Northwest Arkansas through no-cost consulting, mentorship and access to resources. Focused on innovation and economic growth, we support startups at every stage – from idea to scale – through programs like Fuel Accelerator, Kiva NWA and UpStart Thrift. By removing barriers and building community, we strengthen the region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and create lasting impact for local businesses.

What problem is your technology and/or innovation solving in your industry or within your company? Describe the challenge.

We address the lack of accessible entrepreneurial support in Northwest Arkansas. Many founders struggle to find affordable guidance, funding and strategic resources. Our innovation is in delivering high-impact, no-cost support – including Kiva NWA for microloans and Fuel for accelerating scalable ventures. Leveraging tech and partnerships, we make entrepreneurship more accessible and drive economic growth across the region.

What’s the big idea your team came up with? Describe how the product/service was developed and what it does.

We advanced a barrier-free support system offering high-quality resources and mentorship at no cost. Recognizing that many founders lack access to guidance and capital, we built programs that provide one-on-one consulting, microloans and growth opportunities in collaboration with regional partners, rooted in the real-world needs of local entrepreneurs.

What have been the results in the marketplace or within your company? Describe how the tech/innovation has disrupted industry or internal operations.

Our no-cost model has bolstered entrepreneurial support in Northwest Arkansas. We meet with around 2,000 entrepreneurs annually, helping them launch and grow businesses. Through Kiva NWA, we’ve deployed over $2 million in microloans to underserved founders. Fuel has attracted and relocated scalable ventures, creating local jobs and stimulating growth. By removing financial barriers, we’ve built a thriving, inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem.
