Mueller Streamline Plans $7.5M Expansion of Wynne Facility

2 min read

Piping systems manufacturer Mueller Streamline Co., a subsidiary of publicly traded Mueller Industries of Collierville, Tennessee, on Tuesday announced a $7.5 million expansion of its distribution and packaging operations at its Wynne facility.

The project is expected to create 60 jobs over two years, bringing the facility’s total workforce to about 170, the Arkansas Economic Development Commission said in a news release. The company is committed to 40 new jobs initially, with the expectation of placing them within the first year of the expansion, with an additional 20 new positions in the second year.

Mueller acquired the Wynne facility in 1998 with the purchase of copper tube manufacturer Halstead Industries of Greensboro, North Carolina. Since then, Mueller has built a new distribution center on the Wynne campus to support retail distribution and acquired additional operations in Springdale and Fayetteville

“We have long appreciated the work ethic and spirit of the employees in all of our Arkansas-based operations, and this most recent investment reflects our commitment to and belief in the hard -working people of Wynne and Cross County,” Mueller Chairman and CEO Gregory L. Christopher said in the release.

Planning for the expansion and upgrade of the Wynne facility began in the first quarter of 2025.

Mueller Industries reported rising sales and income in the first quarter, partly due to higher sales prices that reflected rising costs for raw materials and tariffs. Revenue was $1 billion, up 17.7% from $849.7 million, and income was $157.4 million, up 13.37%  from $138.4 million.

For the full year of 2024, the company reported sales of $3.8 billion up 10.2% from $3.4 billion in 2023. Net income was $604.9 million, up slightly from $602.9 million the previous year.

In addition to piping systems, Muller Industries makes products for industries including HVAC and refrigeration; industrial manufacturing; appliance; transportation; medical; military and defense; and electrical.

The company also has operations in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
