Wildwood Park for the Arts in Little Rock on Wednesday announced the hiring of Christina Muñoz as its new director of communications.
Muñoz is the co-owner and co-founder of Muñoz Pugh, a marketing and communications firm she launched in 2018 with her business partner, Michelle Pugh.
Before starting her own company, she was the associate vice president of communications, public relations and marketing for the University of Central Arkansas. Prior to joining UCA, Muñoz spent 11 years at KATV, Little Rock’s ABC affiliate, rising from a reporter to evening news anchor.
In her new role, Muñoz will be responsible for implementing Wildwood’s communications strategy and managing its long-term reputation.
Wildwood, located on 105 acres in the Chenal Valley area of Little Rock, is home to botanical gardens and the 625-seat Lucy Lockett Cabe Festival Theatre. The nonprofit offers professional-level arts programming and educational projects.
“Christina brings a wealth of experience and talent that will help strengthen our role as a community arts leader in central Arkansas,” Jerry Wild, chairman of the board at Wildwood, said in a news release. “Her unique blend of expertise in public relations, marketing, and the performing arts makes her an ideal choice for the role.”
