The El Dorado Union County Chamber of Commerce announced that Steven Jones has been appointed as president and CEO.
Jones is a former vice president of Ideal Construction Co. of Little Rock. In that role, he led the company’s business development efforts across a four-state region, working with architects on master facility plans, helping customers navigate decision-making, and offering guidance on project options, the chamber said in a news release.
His team’s portfolio included minor facility upgrades, multi-phased renovations and ground-up rural hospitals and schools.
Prior to his time at Ideal, Jones was a high school football coach for 13 years, with the last six being in Union County.
He serves on several local boards, including the South Arkansas Historical Preservation Society and the Boys & Girls Club of Union County.
“We are incredibly excited to welcome Steven Jones as our new President/CEO,” Chris Wasson, chairman of chamber’s board of directors, said in the release. “His unique blend of business acumen, proven leadership from the athletic field, and unwavering dedication to our community make him the perfect fit to lead the Chamber. His extensive network and passion for economic development will be a tremendous asset as we work to build an even brighter future for El Dorado and Union County.”
