? Gallery: Inside the Reimagined Main Library in Downtown Little Rock

1 min read

The Central Arkansas Library System’s Main Library branch in downtown Little Rock reopened Monday after a two-year, $31.5 million renovation project.

The renovation left the physical footprint of the 160,338-SF library mostly unchanged, but it created more usable space for a host of new amenities.

The lower level of the building, previously only open to the public during CALS’ used book sales, now serves as a public computer lab. Additionally, the building’s rooftop has been transformed into patio space and will provide the public with an open air view of downtown Little Rock.

A reopening celebration with games, crafts, food trucks, and music is scheduled for Saturday.

The library system recently hosted a tour of the renovated branch. Photos from the tour are below.
