As young dentists, Drs. Hunter Smith and Will Little recognized the need for support organizations that could help practices grow while still allowing dentists to maintain control of their business.
So in 2015, they founded GPS Dental of Jonesboro, a dental support organization that offers a variety of management services for dentists across the country.
Over the past decade, GPS Dental has grown to include 115 partner practices and more than 300 dentists across 28 states.
Its 2025 revenue was $332 million, up from $330 million in 2024.
One of the challenges the company faces is overcoming skepticism about dental support organizations. “Many dentists have heard horror stories about corporate dentistry: loss of autonomy, pressure to overtreat, assembly-line patient care,” said Little, who is the CEO.
But GPS Dental operates differently, he said. “We’re genuinely built by dentists for dentists.”
