Ordinal

2026 Arkansas Business of the Year // Innovation Pacesetter

Bentonville

Ordinal’s beginnings came when co-founder Nick Spinazze’s attempt to build housing in Fayetteville stalled for years due to code and permitting issues.

Spinazze, with co-founders Jacob Herrington and Jacob Eubanks, saw an opportunity to aid overwhelmed city staff through artificial intelligence.

Together, the three launched Ordinal, an AI-powered research assistant for local governments. Unlike a traditional AI tool like ChatGPT, Ordinal only generates answers from a city’s actual codes and records.

The platform serves city planners, clerks, mayors, managers, 311 teams and code enforcement, often lessening workload by hours or days.

“We frequently find new problems that we can solve with the same technology,” Herrington said. “There’s just so many places where tech has left local government behind, and we get to go and help fix those things.”

The startup recently raised $1 million in venture capital, attracting investments from firms like The Venture Center Arkansas Fund and Plains Ventures of Oklahoma.
