Hot Springs Reveals Top-Selling Hotels & RestaurantsLock Icon

1 min read

It’s been more than a decade since, at the behest of a legislator who later pleaded guilty to corruption, the state Legislature made it illegal for cities to reveal the amount individual restaurants and hotels remitted in advertising and promotions commission taxes.

That put an end to Arkansas Business’ wildly popular lists of top-selling restaurants and hotels, and now all we can give you is the totals collected by selected cities that enact local-option A&P taxes.

But a couple of cities did tell Whispers which establishments were their top-sellers.

In Hot Springs, the top five restaurants collecting its 3% A&P tax in 2025 were:

  • Oaklawn Racing Casino
  • Chick-fil-A
  • Texas Roadhouse
  • Cracker Barrel Old Country Store
  • LongHorn Steakhouse

Oaklawn also collected the most hotel tax, which is also 3%, followed by:

  • Embassy Suites
  • DoubleTree by Hilton
  • Arlington Hotel & Spa
  • Hotel Hot Springs

El Dorado imposes a 3% tax on lodging but no A&P tax on restaurants. Its top five tax-generators last year:

  • The Haywood Hotel
  • Hampton Inn & Suites
  • Candlewood Suites
  • Fairfield Inn & Suites
  • Holiday Inn Express.
