Former Wal-Mart Chief Mike Duke Gets Parting Gift of Painting from Successor

1 min read

Time magazine recently followed on a story we first brought you: the burgeoning popularity of Connecticut artist Brendan O’Connell, the painter who brings beauty to the quotidian: all the people and things that can be found in your local Wal-Mart.

In a postscript to our tale, O’Connell shares with us that Doug McMillon, president and CEO of Wal-Mart Stores Inc. of Bentonville, gave an O’Connell artwork to his predecessor as head honcho, Mike Duke.

We understand it was a painting celebrating the retail giant’s 50th anniversary, back in 2012.

No word on the price.
