Capital Hotel Named to Southern Living Hotel Collection

1 min read

Little Rock’s Capital Hotel has been added to a list of independent four- and five-star hotels and inns throughout 18 states in the South.

The Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism announced Tuesday that the West Markham Street hotel, that opened in 1870, was added to the Southern Living Hotel Collection, which now includes 30 premier hotels, resorts and inns.

Before a hotel is added to the list, it’s judged for amenities, service, facilities and cuisine.

“This storied hotel is richly ingrained in Americana and Southern Culture,” Sid Evans, editor-in-chief of Southern Living, said in the news release. “It’s colorful history makes it fascinating, but its luxurious amenities, unique services and truly gourmet cuisine led by Michelin Chef Joël Antunes turns this gem of a hotel into ‘a must stay’ on every sophisticated travelers bucket list.”

The Capital Hotel, located in downtown Little Rock, has 94 guest rooms and four luxury suites, in addition to the Capital Bar and Grill and a restaurant that is currently undergoing a transformation.
