The Arkansas Science & Technology Authority (ASTA) has launched a new mobile-friendly website designed to provide easier access to grants and investments for high-tech startups with the potential to create high-paying jobs in Arkansas.
The new design is more mobile and social network friendly, said ASTA communications manager Chris Snider.
“We made a conscious decision to make the site look more commercial in appearance and easier to use,” he said. “Most government sites are intimidating, text heavy and confusing. In a Twitterized world, that’s just not practical anymore.”
Snider said such changes motivated the agency to create a YouTube trailer that “describes ASTA in just 37 seconds.”
ASTA president Tim Atkinson said the redesigned site will make it easier for existing and future ASTA clients to navigate the process of getting the grants and investments they need.
“It will help us spread the message that ASTA fosters innovation, supports the creation of high- tech, high-paying jobs and is working to ensure the economic future of Arkansas,” he said.
