Leslie Rutledge Names Chief of Staff, Legislative Director

Attorney General-elect Leslie Rutledge on Wednesday named Carl Vogelpohl of Little Rock as chief of staff and Cory Cox of Maumelle as legislative director.      

Vogelpohl is the former chief of staff and district director for U.S. Rep. Tim Griffin. He was senior advisor for Rutledge’s attorney general campaign. He also organized and led her transition team.      

“Carl has demonstrated the ability to work with multiple stakeholders, and his knowledge combined with his experience will be an asset to my administration,” Rutledge said in a news release.

Cox is deputy chief counsel of the state Department of Human Services. Before that, he was staff attorney and legislative affairs liaison for Land Commissioner John Thurston. He also worked as deputy chief counsel for Gov. Mike Huckabee and was Huckabee’s legislative counsel during the 2003 legislative session.
