Connect Arkansas, in partnership with the Information Network of Arkansas, announced Monday the launch of the official Nevada County website, NevadaCounty.Arkansas.gov.
The county will host an “official launch” of the site Dec. 18 at 10 a.m. at the Nevada County Courthouse in Prescott. The event is open to the public.
Connect Arkansas, a nonprofit affiliate of the Arkansas Capital Corporation Group, is working with the Information Network of Arkansas to launch websites in Arkansas for counties with low-staffed county offices. The Nevada County site will be the 20th it has launched.
This initiative is designed to help rural counties be more efficient through e-government, meet the growing demands from citizens who want to do business online, and encourage further broadband adoption among residents, according to a press release.
So far, the new county websites have dramatically added to counties’ ability to collect taxes in a timely manner through online tax payments, the release said.
