Chasse Conque
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock has named Chasse Conque as its new athletic director.
Conque worked four years as development director in the athletic department before leaving for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences where he serves as senior director of development for the Medical Center.
At UAMS, Conque helped raise $16 million for the UAMS College of Medicine between 2011 and 2014, including $6.3 million in 2012. Additionally, he led a $2 million scholarship campaign among medical alumni, and managed a statewide Board of Visitors that has pledged or helped raise nearly $3 million in three years.
“[Conque] represents an unusual opportunity to hire someone who is both an insider and an outsider, and I believe he is the right person for this [department] at this time,” Chancellor Joel Anderson said in a news release. “He knows the challenges and the opportunities of Trojan Athletics very well, and he brings particular strength in the critical area of fundraising.”
At UALR, Conque was responsible for the inception of the largest fundraising event in the university’s history and oversaw the Trojan Athletic Foundation.
Conque replaces interim director Bob Denman. Former athletic director Chris Peterson resigned in September following an open-mic incident.
Conque is the son of Clint Conque, the former football coach at the University of Central Arkansas, who is now head coach at Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas.
