Greg Fernholz has been named general manager for the Homewood Suites being built at the site of the old Arkla Gas Building at Capitol and River Market in downtown Little Rock.
McKibbon Hotel Group made the announcement on Thursday. Fernholz assumed his new duties on March 16. He is the former general manager for the Hilton Garden Inn off East McCain in North Little Rock. He has also worked with Residence Inn by Marriott, Embassy Suites, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express.
The Homewood Suites Little Rock Downtown is scheduled to open in June.
“Greg is a veteran of the Little Rock market with success running three other hotels in the area,” said Bruce Baerwalde, McKibbon executive vice president, in a news release. “We anticipate him achieving great things with our new Homewood Suites.”
Fernholz is an executive board member of the Arkansas Hotel and Restaurant Association.
The Homewood Suites downtown will have 116 suites, one and two bedrooms, each room with a kitchen. McKibbon Hotel Group owns two other downtown Little Rock hotels – the Courtyard by Marriott and Hampton Inn.
