Dr. Robert Martin, a foot and ankle surgeon, and Dr. Paul Edwards, hip and knee replacement surgeon, have joined the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and will serve as assistant professors in the Department of Orthopaedics in the UAMS College of Medicine.
Jordan Foster has joined the Arkansas Pharmacists Association in Little Rock as communications director. He previously was special projects coordinator for the Arkansas Auditor of State.

Brad Rawlins has been named interim dean of the College of Humanities & Social Sciences at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. Rawlins, who succeeds Lauri Umansky, will continue to serve as dean for the College of Media & Communication.
Dale Manor, professor of Bible and archaeology, has been named a recipient of the Teacher Achievement Award at Harding University. Other recipients include Usen Akpanudo, associate professor of education; Steven Breezeel, associate professor of history and social sciences; Gary Hill, associate professor of physician assistant studies; Kelly Neill, associate professor of music; Scott Ragsdale, associate professor of computer science; Jim Shelton, professor of business; and J.D. Yingling, associate professor of kinesiology.
Brooke Zimny, director of communications and marketing at Ouachita Baptist University, has been named national communications vice president for the Baptist Communicators Association.

Shawn Van Nguyen has been promoted to mortgage lender at Arvest Bank in Little Rock. He joined Arvest in 2012 as a financial services representative and was later promoted to consumer lender.
Government
Karen Russ, associate professor and research and community engagement librarian at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, has been named a member of the U.S. Government Publishing Office’s Depository Library Council.

Jeremy Davis and Jason Smith have been elected shareholders and management committee members of American Safeguard Insurance in Conway. Davis has been with the agency since 2003 and specializes in personal and commercial clients. Smith, with 20 years of insurance experience, focuses on commercial services.
Manufacturing
Matt Peterson and Paulo Jacuzzi have been named to the executive team of Jason International Inc. in Little Rock. Peterson, who previously worked for Whirlpool Corp., York International and Kitchen Aid, will serve as president and replaces company founder, CEO and President Remo Jacuzzi in his retirement. Paulo Jacuzzi will serve as executive vice president.

Cynthia Easterly has joined Mangan Holcomb Partners as an accounting assistant. She brings to the agency several years of office management and accounting experience.

Marcus Osborne, Jennifer Styron-Ripa and Dr. Roxane Townsend have been elected as board members for the Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care in Little Rock. Osborne is vice president of health and wellness payer relations for Wal-Mart Stores Inc. in Bentonville, Styron-Ripa is chief financial officer and senior vice president of finance and treasury for the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock, and Townsend is vice chancellor for clinical programs and medical center chief executive officer at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
