Arkansas home sales increased by more than 6 percent in April while the price of those homes went up by more than 12 percent, according to data released Wednesday by the Arkansas Realtors Association.
The average price of the homes sold in the 43-county area surveyed by the association increased from $50,426 in April 2014 to $169,253 in April 2015. Meanwhile, statewide valuations in April increased by more than 19 percent from 2014.

Benton and Pulaski counties reported the most units sold for April. The top five counties for units sold:
- Benton: 460 units sold, up 19.2 percent from the 386 sold in April 2014.
- Pulaski: 396 units sold, down 6.6 percent from 424.
- Washington: 234, up 21.2 percent from 193.
- Saline: 168, up 7 percent from 157.
- Faulkner: 133, down 5.6 percent from 126.
Statewide totals reported by the association were 2,579 units sold, up 6.4 percent from the 2,425 units sold in April 2014.
Benton and Washington counties saw the highest average home prices in April. The top five counties for highest average home price:
- Benton: $244,722, up 27.9 percent from $191,357 in April 2014.
- Washington: $185,846, up 7.5 percent from $172,964.
- Faulkner: $177,348, up 11.9 percent from $158,445.
- Pulaski: $174,874, down 0.7 percent from $1176,086.
- Saline, $173,371, up 5.6 percent from $164,200.
The statewide average for April, according to the group, was $169,253, up 12.5 percent from $150,426.
