Simmons Unveils Ad Featuring Justin Moore

1 min read

A new advertising campaign featuring Justin Moore, the country music artist originally from Poyen (Grant County), was unveiled Thursday night at Simmons First National Corp.’s annual shareholders meeting.

A new tagline — “Simmons Country,” with a cowboy hat on the logo — was also introduced. Stone Ward of Little Rock is Simmons’ advertising agency.

Moore did not perform at the dinner meeting at the Pine Bluff Convention Center. He told shareholders that he had been “very cautious” about who he does business with.

In a press release, CEO George Makris Jr. said, “Like Simmons, Justin is a product of Arkansas who’s now receiving national recognition. We think he will be the perfect spokesman for us as we expand our services across the region.”

With four acquisitions completed in the past year and a half, Simmons First National Bank has grown from $3.5 billion in assets in 2012 to $7.8 billion in Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas and Tennessee.

Shareholders approved doubling the maximum number of shares it can issue from 60 million to 120 million. The additional shares can be used to make more acquisitions or “to effect future stock dividends.”
