City Market, a small chain of grocery stores based in Little Rock, has signed an asset purchase agreement with Mayflower Food Stores Inc. to buy that company’s two stores, one in Stuttgart and another in Carlisle (Lonoke County).
City Market likes to stay “under the radar,” spokesman Chad Evans said. It currently owns five grocery stores: two in Little Rock, one in North Little Rock, one in Hazen and another in Des Arc.
