Innovation Hub Hosting LR Version of InnovateHER Competition

1 min read

The Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub has been selected as the central Arkansas host for the 2016 InnovateHER national pitch competition from the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The contest was brought to northwest Arkansas last year and is being hosted in Fayetteville by Startup Junkie Consulting. This year marks the competition’s first trip to the Little Rock metro.

The nonprofit Innovation Hub is located in the Argenta district of North Little Rock.

According to SBA, the competition is designed to provide entrepreneurs an opportunity to showcase products and services that have a measurable impact on the lives of women and families, have commercialization potential and fill a market need.

The Little Rock installment will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2. Local winners will advance to Washington for the national competition and a chance to win up to $70,000 in cash prizes from Microsoft.

Local participants will compete for a $1,000 cash prize. Local competitions will entail a three-minute pitch followed by three minutes of questions from judges. It’s free to enter (applicants must be 18 and older), but those interested must apply at ARHub.org/InnovateHER
