iHeartMedia Renames Tom FM as ‘Big 94-9’

1 min read

IHeartMedia Little Rock said this week that it has rebranded radio station  94.9 Tom FM (KHKN-FM) as “Big 94-9 Little Rock’s Greatest Hits.”

The switch took place at 6 a.m. on Monday.

“Our listeners told us, their favorite songs are the songs we play from the 70’s and 80’s,” Jeff Cage, the station’s program director said in a news release. “Now Little Rock and central Arkansas has a station exclusively playing the biggest hit songs from those decades.”

Chad Heritage, the station’s senior vice president of programming, said the name change “better reflects the music we play.”

“We’re big and fun, and play the big hits that have been missing from Little Rock radio for too long,” Heritage said. “Now fans of the station can listen even longer.”

The station said Tom FM brand’s namesake, Tom Wood, remains with KHKN, and hosts programming from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays.

Other iHeartMedia Little Rock radio stations include KSSN 96 FM (KSSN-FM); 105.1 The Wolf (KMJX-FM); and 100.3 The Edge (KDJE-FM).
